“City of Toronto’s Scotiabank Nuit Blanche announces full program for 2011″

The City of Toronto today released the entire artistic program for the sixth edition of Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, taking place Saturday, October 1 from 6:59 p.m. until sunrise. This year's lineup includes 134 projects created by more than 500 local, national and international artists. For one sleepless night, the streets of the city will come alive with public art.

A powerful 8.9 magnitude earthquake with a depth of 24.4 km, struck off the east coast of Honshu, Japan on March 11, 2011 at 14:46 local  time. A series of significant aftershocks, ranging in size from 5.8 to 7.1 magnitude, have already struck the same area.
I'd like to extend my condolences and deepest sympathies to the people of Japan who at this hour are still dealing with the remnants of a catastrophic force of nature.

“‘Doors Open’ Toronto Kicks Off”

Cultural Services, a division of the City of Toronto responsible for  promoting the development of arts, culture and heritage presents its annual Doors Open Toronto this weekend Saturday, May 23 to Sunday, May 24, 2009.  The event features 175 buildings of architectural, historic, cultural and social significance opening their doors to the public for a city-wide celebration, of sorts.
